Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) is a branch of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) which offers a logical and practical approach to psychological wellbeing. REBT is about emotional responsibility and philosophical change.

What is REBT?

When we face a difficulty and get stuck in unhelpful patterns, we do well to get in touch with what is important to us. There are three types of unhelpful mindsets in which we can get caught up: unrealistic expectations, demands, and extreme thinking. These automatically bring unwanted outcomes – we react. To aid you in moving forward in life, we will focus on bringing counters to these unhelpful mindsets. By staying with our values, we open up to all the relevant possibilities, whilst taking appropriate responsibility but making firm rules that have some flex, and we make more balanced reflections. This aligns us with something workable for ourselves and others.

I am an experienced REBT therapist. I have completed Advanced Diplomas in Integrative Therapy. The aim of REBT is to help you help yourself move towards psychological health. Together, we examine your assumptions about your life and use validation checks to find out if your views support your aims.
