About Me
Whilst at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama at Glasgow in the 1980s I was fortunate to have group and individual Alexander Technique lessons as part of the course. There were regularly four teachers that worked at the music college and so I rotated who I would have lessons from, which offered me a much wider perspective.
After the first couple of years I continued as a private student as I found the Technique such a strong support to my learning.
So, exposed to the principles of the Technique since the age of seventeen, I quickly appreciated the range of its applications. In the first weeks of learning the three main principles I was able to apply them to my ordinary day activities, such as washing up and cycling to college. I realised this was a new way of living-
